Duisburg in the Ruhr area - what better facade suits gritty rock than that of steel blast furnaces, glowing fires and solid muscle work?
Exactly, none! This homeland shaped the five guys from Fools Errant. Blues-inspired rock and rock 'n roll, enriched with modern elements of hard rock, metal, pop and post-grunge, which could hardly be more convincing. Here, the guys' inspirations, which range from Nickelback to Alter Bridge, from Joe Bonamassa to Queen, cannot be hidden.
The CD release was followed by a tour through England, France, Austria and the Ruhr area, which ended with an impressive show at Russia's biggest rock festival in front of more than 16,000 people. Had they reached the zenith of their still fresh career? Far from it!
The second album "Amplified Stories" was not long in coming. Like every Duisburg concert, the release show was sold out within a few hours. In 2014 they completed their seventh "Sold Out Year" in a row, played at the OLGASROCK Festival, ExtraSchicht, the Traumzeit Festival and convinced the jury of the "Best of unsigned" band contest, winning first place out of over 100 participants.
But 2015 was to be a very special year. Concerts in Lithuania, Austria and Germany filled the calendar. WDR 2 listeners voted them NRW newcomer, which earned the band a slot at the WDR 2 Summer Open Air 2015 alongside Max Mutzke, Madsen, Andreas Bourani, Marlon Roudette and Madcon in front of well over 12,000 people and a presentable radio promo.
Shortly afterwards, the boys' long-awaited eponymous third album was released and is available in stores worldwide.
Since 2016, the band has been working on their fourth studio album. Until then, however, a few things happened, e.g. in 2019, Fools Errant stayed at the top of the Ruhr charts for a few weeks with their song "Losing Ground" and played support for Steel Panther in Cologne. The new album "Decade" saw the light of day in April 2020 and received positive feedback throughout.
